meghali BorahMom of a 8 yr 3 m old boy6 years agoA. Yes you can. You can give seasonal fruits either hand mashed or steamed. Vegetables steamed or boiled. Dal rice slightly overcooked, khichdi ,ragi, suji sabudana Kheer are some great options to start with. Potatoes, sweet potato, avocado banana, Apples are some other great option too. Ghee and butter can be added. Start with one time meal and gradually you increase it. Always offer few sips of water after every meal to maintain oral hygiene.
Make sure the baby is sitting upright. You can use high chair or booster chair, else you can make the baby sit in your lap. Never feed the baby in a rocker or in inclined position. The food specially the porridges should not be too watery. It should be thick enough so that if you till tilt the spoon, it doesn't fall off from there. Rejection will happen but don't worry it is normal in the initial stage. A baby needs Atleast 15 to 20 exposures to get used to the solid textured food. And also if your baby makes puking type of faces, don't panic it's not puke, it's that the baby is gagging and it's starting phase of weaning journey through which baby will learn to chew and swallow
