ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist1 Year agoA. dear mum, if your child is active, playful, achieving all growth milestones, weight is within the normal range for child's age then do not worry.
breastfeeding should be stopped gradually for it to be less stressful for you as well as baby
Ensure that the child eats enough; increase number of meals.
Increase interval between breastfeeds. Drop one feed every day per week. Taper over 2-3 months.
Stop morning breastfeeds first, then afternoon feeds after 2 - 3 weeks. Avoid situations that remind the baby of the breast: other family members and father can help with feeding and putting the child to sleep.
The nighttime feeding is usually the last to go.
