A. Mild hydronephrosis in a 3-month-old baby is generally not considered an immediate cause for serious concern, but it does require monitoring and follow-up. Hydronephrosis refers to the swelling of a kidney due to a build-up of urine, and it can occur for various reasons, such as a blockage in the urinary tract or issues with kidney function. In many cases, mild hydronephrosis may resolve on its own as the baby grows. However, it is essential to work closely with your pediatrician or a pediatric nephrologist. They may recommend regular ultrasounds to monitor the condition and ensure that the kidneys are functioning properly. It's also important to watch for any signs of urinary tract infections (UTIs), such as fever, irritability, or changes in urination. Always follow your healthcare provider's advice and attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to ensure your baby's health is being monitored appropriately. If you notice any sudden changes in your baby's health or unusual symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
