Q.

Hi my 12 month shy of 3 days old baby is having diarrhoea like symptoms ..since last 2 days he is passing stool 4 times .. very smelly , and yellow stool , normally he use to pass stool once or twice in a day .. What should I do .. when do I need to worry ? Yesterday he was less active.. today he is somehow active .. please suggest .. he never faced diarrhoea issue in past so I am clueless ..

A. Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis whefre symptomatic treatment along with management fgxor dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment
