A. The best way to transition into solids is to start with finger foods. First start with steamed veggies, and fruits. Let the child handle the food. Offer one solid per day and the rest of the meals can be in pureed form and slowly give all solid meals. In the beginning, gagging may happen but that is how they will learn to chew. Persistence is the key. This cannot happen overnight. Steamed carrot, steamed broccoli, steamed okra, steamed beans, paper thin slices of apples, avocado slices are great options to start with.
