A. Yes, you can give your 11-month-old baby dry fruits and homemade Farex (Ferrelac), but with some precautions: 1️⃣ Dry Fruits (Almonds, Cashews, Walnuts, Pistachios) ✔ Yes, you can give dry fruits but in powdered form to avoid choking. ✔ Mix dry fruit powder in porridge, kheer, suji halwa, or warm milk. ✔ Avoid whole nuts until the baby is at least 3 years old (choking risk). 2️⃣ Homemade Ferrelac / Farex ✔ Homemade cereals like wheat, ragi, or rice flour are great for weight gain. ✔ You can make it by roasting and grinding rice, moong dal, ragi, and dry fruits. ✔ Add ghee, jaggery (little), or banana for taste and energy. 3️⃣ Can You Add Outside Milk? ✔ If your baby is already taking cow’s milk in small amounts, you can mix it in homemade Farex. ✔ However, cow’s milk should not replace breastmilk/formula before 1 year. ✔ If your baby has never had cow’s milk, start with small amounts (2-3 spoons) to check for allergies. ✔ You can also mix it with formula milk or breastmilk instead. Final Tips ✅ Introduce one new food at a time to check for allergies. ✅ Keep the consistency soft and easy to digest. ✅ Continue breastfeeding/formula until at least 1 year for proper nutrition. Let me know if you need a homemade Farex recipe or any other guidance!
