Q.

Hi Doctor My son is 3 months old. First 2 months he is in 70-80% formula and 20-30% on mother's feed. from the last month, he is 95% on his mother's feed. birth weight is 2kgs. he gained 3kgs in the first two months. he is 5kgs by the end of the second month. from last one month, he just gained 0.5kgs. is it normal with less weight gain with mothers milk? He is healthy and feeding regularly. thanks in advance Pramod

A. Hello father the baby tend to gain more weight with formula as in the earlier stages he was mainly on that . But over all his weight gain is fine .. it’s good that he is on mother feed .. make sure the mother takes good feed to get good quanlity feed . Babies double their birth weight by the age of 4 to 6 months
