Q.

Hi Doctor, my son is 18 month, Doctor prescribed for 10ml, when we went for vaccinations 2month back. Doctor prescribed us vitamin A( Denvit A DS) 10ml one time. we forget to take that time, can we give it now? is 10ml (20000 IU/ 1ml) in one shot ok?

A. yes one shot is ok usually vitamin a deficiency can occur in children if the diet is not proper. in maintenance dosage it is usually given at the end of 9 months and then at the end of 15 months(2 lakh units) and then between 4 years to 5 years of age and usually given along with mmr vaccination. in between any extra dosage is required or not will be decided by the doctor.
