Q.

hi doctor my baby is 6 month old, he suffering from severe cold and cough. doctor advised to use nebuliser. levosalbutamol inhalation solution (levolin repsules) 0.63mg 1.5 ml used as nebulizer. four times in a day.is this safe for baby. in google i studied that it is not safe for baby less than 6 years old but my paediatrician using this for 6 month baby. does this cause heart problems to baby

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoums like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hyvdration needs to be maintained .
