Hi Doctor, my baby is 1 month old and we are feeding him formula due to low supply of breast milk. however from past 5 days he doesn't pass the motion ( poop) whether this normal for new baby or we should consult the doctors

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also.
it is also normal if they are passing stool morre than 6 or 7 times per day.
if the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour (the colour can range from yellow broown green to black) of the stool.
also straining while passing urine and stool is normal.
Do burping for 15 to 20 minutes
