Hi Doctor my baby has fever 102 today now giving her crocin babygesic with local dr advise any other instruction pls advise may i lessesn her cloths as my mother in law asking that her body releasing hottness from her body... pls clarify....

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyreticd like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic afcid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful .
Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
