Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the to doctor is done and accordinfg to the type of cough its prescribed. if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

Sonam PrasadMom of 2 children3 years agoA. hi dear : Use honey, 2 to 5 mL, as needed. The honey thins the mucus and loosens the cough. (If you do not have honey, you can use corn syrup). Recent research has shown that honey is better than store-bought cough syrups at reducing how often coughing happens and how bad coughing is at night.
