Q.

Hi Doctor, My 5 and half months old baby is having difficulty passing stools after starting solids. we are feeding her rice and dal porridge and banana. She is pasing very hard stools with great difficulty. could you please suggest. Also, how much water can we feed her now.

A. the baby is more than five months of age having difficulty in passing stool Constipation is quite common in babies you have to do modification of food baby will be taking we have to include fibre in the diet of the baby you lot of fruits seasonally available like mango papaya banana and adequate water for the baby to drink

A. U Should try to give at least 50 to 60 ML of water every day other than that you should try to give good amount of fruits and don’t give banana for the time being if your child is constipated because banana can increase constipation so as of now avoid giving banana to the child
