Hi doctor, I had cervical cerclage. Now 32 weeks, m doctor have given betamethasone steroid for baby lungs speed up. Is this fine? Can I take this steroid? will it affect my baby or myself??? Kindly answer me.

Dr GhouseGuardian of 3 children4 years agoA. since you are having some problem expecting early delivery your doctor has given maturity of lungs of the baby steroid Further it is advisable to consult your local doctor for appropriate examination of the baby physically and if there is need to do any investigations if required

Madam Steroids mostly are not good at this age or at any point of time basically but if your doctor has given it must have given to boost up something so if you have a doubt about it you can always so taken advice from another gynaecologist by getting a proper reports and everything check because everything is required before giving you any correct assistance
