Hi Doctor, Gud mrng! Doctor, my son is 10 month old now. 3 days before, he fell down from the coat. He seems to be okey for next 24 hours without vomiting, tiredness & all. Yesterday onwards he is suffering from fever & cough. when cough stars, it ends with vomiting. Is it due to that fall? Kindly reply

In such falls, is it enough to watch the next 24 hrs only or need to obseve more days? He was completely normal for next 24hrs. Active as usual.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol.
Recurrent fall injury for a child suhould be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally .u
Also teeth injury should be rule out in any such case which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
