Q.

hi doc my lo 25 days old cluster feeds..and passes lot of gas..while burping him, he clenches his feet and screams..then I feed him and he keeps quiet.. how do I identify if its colic, gas or any other pbm??

A. Gas in smaller babies is a very common and a Matter of concern most of the times for care giver. its mostrly because of immaturity of the gut . formula feed or early introduction of cows milk in babies may be aggravating factor. proper burping after each feed is very important. Enzyme pgreparations like aglozyme or vitazyme can be beneficial.Also colicaid drops can be given.

A. A Child normally has a very tight stomach when they have gas issues of colic pain and sometimes they will cry just excessively it is not because of hunger even if you feel that do not become quite that is also a sign that the child may be having stomach pain only
