hi actually my son is 4 months old. My parents are forcing me to give cow milk to my baby. according to them, my baby seems too little in weight and height. But doctor said he is up to the mark. I don't know what to do. Till now he is being fed only with breast milk. What should I do?

A. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which could be severe sometimes. Also early introdyuction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milk lacks iron and vit c . Also there could be micro bleeding in intestine because of the heavy protein of cow's milk .To start with cow's milk should be given thayn gradually you can shift to buffalo milk or a packet milk which is a mixture of two .
