Helo Dr . Meri Daughter 10 month 2 weeks ki hai usko 30 th may se Sardi jukam huya tha phr medicine Dene pe tik ho gya...but usko kansi kabi kabi hota tha phr after 10 days baad usko khasi me cough ho gya me last 1 week se medicine de rahi hu but wo tik nahi ho raha what I do... khasi ko pure din me 2 se 3 time karti hai ye kab tak tik hoga . please reply

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fecver is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the tempjoerature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
