Q.

Hello, Which tests can detect if the fetus has micro retrognathia? my doctor suspected micrognathia in my 16th week ultrasound and suggested amniocentesis. will it give accurate results? The blood test in FTS report showed intermediary risk. Does amniocentesis results show if the fetus really has a problem?

A. Amniocentesis will find out if there is any congenital anomaly which can be detected through that procedure. Sometimes there could be isolated retrognathia and the test may not be able to find regarding that. Consult fetal medicine specialistWrite Your Answer Here

A. Madam, Is there any way to find out if there's isolated micrognathia? As per my doctor I had undergone amniocentesis procedure, a report is still pending. Report for FISH test is normal.
