Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry.
Swelling can be reduced by giving ice fomenfttation locally and paracetamol can be given for fever or pain.
Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain and swelling .

There is only a very rare chance that the fever can come during the time of painless vaccination so you can give paracetamol to the child and on the vaccination area you can gently rub ice that is going to help in settling down the swelling and also the medicine would be beneficial as of luck
