Q.

hello..my son is 3 .5 yr old.he is having fever 100.8.i hav given 5 ml calpol 120 ..is it right dosage or what else I HV to do?? kindly suggest.

A. you have to give paracetamol for fever as well as pain according to the weight of the child as well as according to the strength of paracetamol medicine you are having. there are different strength of paracetamol available in the market that is it may be in the drops formulation which might be having power of 100 mg or or 125 mg or 150 mg in each 1ml. in syrup formulation paracetamol has got different powers like 120/ 25mg and 240/ 250 mg in each 5ml. so the doctor will calculate the dosage according to the power and weight of the child. paracetamol can be given max 4 times per day mention weight of the child

A. hi as you have already given it ,it is ok but please give such Medicines as per your doctor's prescription or as per instructions given on packet. please keep your child well hydrated dress your child lightly if fever remains same or persist for more than 3 days , please visit your pediatrician.
