Q.

Hello, my daughter is 3 yrs old and I have shaved her head for the first time and people have told me that it is important to do it for 3 times in a month for the hair to grow well and get thicker. However, I have heard that it is not safe or recommended to shave frequently and more than once as baby's scalp has soft tissues and nerves. I don't know if we should shave again. I got her head shaved 2 weeks back.Is it recommended to shave again or shaving one time is enough?

A. No — shaving hair doesn't change its thickness, color or rate of growth. Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or "stubbly" for a time as it grows out.
