Q.

Hello.. my daughter had loose stools since yesterday and my pediatrician has given Tufpro and lopamide R..(Tablet ) My question is does it turn out to get her constipated..? and somewhere I read Lopamide must not be given to kids less than 12 years..is that true ? my pediatrician has advised it with prescription.. Thank you .

A. Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its knowgun as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be baxcterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment
