Q.

Hello.. my baby is one month and four weeks old. She is having nasal congestion for more than a month. We are using saline nasal spray 4-5 times a day but she is not improving. Kindly suggest what should we do???

A. give steam. cold is due to mostly viral infection and can be with cough . Signs can be from running nose , sneezing, throat pain , change in voice . At home can try for indirect steam inhalation with steam around baby . Cough dry or wet then can be given cough syrup as per need Dry cough usually gets better in days . Check for fever or breathing difficult y. If fever above 99 then immediately see a doctor.

A. hi need to check with your pediatrician for once At home , put a bowel of chopped onion and garlic pod near your child bed approx 1.4 feet far overnight,the smell is not so pleasant but it surely help. keep your child head slightly elevated while sleeping. dress your child in weather appropriate clothes keep the room temperature moderated
