Q.

Hello My baby completed 6 months and as my supply has dropped I would want to discontinue mothers milk?So is it okay to discontinue post 6 months?what can be the replacement to mothers milk?like formula or ceralac etc And I also would be starting puree form food as suggested by my doctor?

A. dear mum, do not discontinue breast feeding. even after 6 months, breast milk should be the primary source of milk for your baby. you should continue to breastfeed till 2 years. avoid giving formula or commercially available packaged foods like cerelac. prefer to give homemade food. in addition, you can give any milk that you use at home in the form of recipes like porridge, kheer and milk products like curd, paneer.

A. good evening if you want to stop giving mother's milk you can definitely introduce formula there is no problem I would recommend you to start giving nestlé cerelac fruit puree can also be given that is no problem
