Q.

Hello. My 5 year old son weighing 19 kgs, is having a runny nose since yesterday. Kindly advise an appropriate medicine/ syrup for him. Thanks

A. This can occur due to either allergy or infection and some times due to weather changes around the child. For cold you can give syp allegra 5 ml twice daily to the child. (Helps in decreasing running nose and cold) Try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops every three hourly. Indirect steam can also be given. For fever and pain give pardacetamol Go for home remedies like Tulsi Ginger honey diluted with water combination and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day. Give warmd water to drink. . For wet coughing you can give syrup ascoril LS 5ml twice daily to the child

A. Sinarist you can give this medicine approximately 5 1/2 to 6 ML to your child as of now and you can give it two times in the day as per the requirement apart apart from that if there is more for your child you can also give steam to the child that is also going to be beneficial
