POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. Yes, it is normal for a 4-month-7-day-old baby to not poop for 5 days, especially if they are breastfed. Breastfed babies can sometimes go up to 7-10 days without pooping because breast milk is easily digested and absorbed, leaving little waste.
When Is It Normal?
✅ Your baby is exclusively breastfed and still passing gas.
✅ Baby is active, feeding well, and not showing discomfort.
✅ No signs of a hard or swollen tummy.
When to Be Concerned?
⚠️ Baby is fussy, crying, or seems in pain.
⚠️ Tummy is hard or bloated.
⚠️ Poop is hard, pellet-like, or has blood when passed.
What Can You Do? Tummy Massage – Gently rub the belly in circular motions. Bicycle Legs – Move the baby’s legs like cycling to relieve gas. Warm Bath – A warm bath can relax the muscles and help with bowel movements. Breastfeed More Often – Frequent feeding helps digestion. Consult a Doctor – If baby seems uncomfortable or hasn’t pooped after 7 days, check with a pediatrician.
