Q.

hello mam, My kid is 5 months and 22 days old. since from birth she is on both FM and BM. since last one month she is on completely FM. Me pediatrician suggested me to shift from Lactogen (which I am using since birth) to similac. Now my baby is facing constipation I have been giving some drops too which are suggested by the doctor. Kindly let me know any suggestion to get her out of constipation.

A. normally hardness of the stool is not seen when you are giving only breastfeeding to the child. it is advisable to continue only breastxfeeding and nothing else till completion of 6 months of age. if still the hard stool continues you have to visit the doctor to find the cause. but if you arze giving formula milk then there is a possibility that the milk is not properly digested by the child and you will have to change the brand of formula milk. also do not give any food to the child except milk at this age.
