If the discharge is persistent or accompanied by other symptoms such as redness, swelling, or discomfort, it's a good idea to contact your pediatrician to rule out any infections or other underlying issues.
For a blocked tear duct, you can gently massage the corner of the eye near the nose to help open the duct. Also, you can clean the discharge with a clean, warm washcloth.
