You can start with fruits purees such as banana apple but not mangoes as it can cause diarrhea.. once the baby starts sitting you can start with other semi solids like khichdi with ghee n jeera tadka... avoid salt n sugar honey for one year...you can steam vegetable in finger shape and offer to the baby such as carrots,etc..

as your child is 6 months old now ,you can start to offer semisolid food to your child.
but as it is start ,it is better to offer food like mung dal Pani, rice starch which is easy to digest.
then gradually you can start to offer different vegetables, fruit and rice.
