Q.

Hello, Kiyansh is our first child and he is 9 months old and doing good.we are going with both government and private vaccinations.If available in government we are going and anything additional ones not available in government going with private ones.Actually we had vaccineMR) to our baby and someone suggested to go with the same MMR from private. Do we need to still go with private vaccine(MMR-nums).Please suggest.Thanks

A. yes as Mr vaccination will not cover mumps. mmr stands for measles mumps and rubella. you have to give three dosage of this vaccine at 9 months of age then at 15 months of age and at 5 years of age. vitamin a is usually given along with mmr vaccine. at present government covers only mr vaccine while in private mmr vaccine is available. mr vaccine stands for measles and rubella. at present in government set up only mr vaccine so mumps is not covered in mr vaccine.
