Hello! I stopped breastfeeding my baby after she turned 2 recently.. it’s been 10 days since I stopped breastfeeding her.. and honestly i didn’t stop feeds gradually.. I did it abruptly all at once.. first two days my breasts were too engorged then after hot compress, it reduced to 20% and from 5th day i started to feel hard lumps and heavy breasts.. last night I was massaging my breasts, and the milk started coming out.. in large quantities.. I massaged my breasts till the milk stopped flowing out.. my question is.. is massaging same as expressing milk? I mean does massaging breasts and milk leaking out signal brain to produce more milk ? I hope I’m just clearing out the lumps? I feel the lumps soften after the milk leaked out Please help!!
