Q.

hello I just wanted to ask my daughter is now 2.4 yrs she has fever last 2 days I had consult the doctor he said that because of viral fever but I have one query she is absolutely ok doing all activities but her head and neck only feeling hot no hands and feet why it is ? doctor told me If fever is there only gave calpol otherwise no need so this situation considered fever body temperature is 100.7

A. it is very normal for small children to have slightly warm/hot head palms and soles but if the growth of the child is proper no need to worry about the warm head palm and soles. you have to consider it as fever donly if the temperature in the armpit is 100°f / 37.7°c or more. the warm head palms and soles are due to hyperdynamic circulation in these areas (that is necessary for development) which is normal.

A. hello yes it is normal and check for the temperature using a thermometer and if it is normal then not a problem but if it is more than the normal level then it could be due to fever and insert a case you should better check with your doctor
