hello I am a mother of 4 month baby boy. He always does green motion and sometimes it smells sour. He even takes lactogen as I can't completely feed him enough. what is the reason for his green motion??

ExpertDr. Pandurang sawantPaediatrician4 years agoA. Green colour stool is normal only, If baby is passing urine minimum 6-8 times per day. Don't give so much importance to motion unless blood in motion or bad smelling motion. Consistently green stools in the breastfed baby can indicate an imbalance of foremilk/hindmilk, often resulting in frothy green stools. ... Teething can also bring about green stools due to increased saliva. A lot of green vegetables or something with green food coloring in mom's diet also cause green colour motion in baby. rr

Lactogen is the basic reason behind a green stool of your child As that is very common when you give any kind of lactation or any other milk to the child it’s very normal so we will worry about it if there is a foul smell every time then you should consult your doctor ones
