Hello Dr.. recently for my son (6 years old) stomach was scanned. in that it was mentioned few enlarged mesenteric nodes noted largest measuring 11*7 mm in right illiac fossa. is this a serious concern???. this was taken two weeks before but now he doesn't complain about stomach ache... do I need to take scanning of stomach again?? how does this come??? he doesn't have junk food at all.kindly advice

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy4 years agoA. Mesenteric adenitis is not normally dangerous, but having swollen lymph nodes for a long time can be a sign of something more serious. If the glands are swollen due to a severe bacterial infection, and it is not treated, it can spread to the bloodstream, and this can lead to sepsis.
