A. The normal concentration of glucose in the blood of newborn infants is 2.5 mmol/l (45 mg/dl) to 7.0 mmol/l (126 mg/dl). This is called normoglycaemia (normo = normal; glycaemia = blood glucose). Most newborn infants have a blood glucose concentration in the middle of the normal range, about 3.5 to 5 mmol/l.
