Q.

Hello Dr My daughter is vomiting a lot when I try to burp her after feeding.. Mostly it looks like a curd sometimes as milk nd sometimes watery. I consulted my pediatrician, he said it was GERD nd gave domstal..how many days I need to continue this syrup nd still she vomits. what can I do for this.. pls assist me on this. thanks

A. gastroesophageal reflux disease also known as g e r d is very common problem in small children less than 6 months of age and it does not have any permanent treatment and the problem decreases with increasing age of the child and the important thing is that you have to keep the child in upright position for more duration for which gerd chairs are available and at the same time you have to continue and tested medicines given by the doctor continue medication as per dr advice

A. generally this is normal in New born babies as their digestive system has not developed fully and appetite is low due to that they vomit or puke the extra milk , try to keep baby on your shoulder for sometime till you feel milk is digest . give medicine as prescribed doses should be given as doctor advised you
