Hello dr. my baby is 15 months.. from last two weeks he was suffering from diarrhoea.. admitted in hospital for two days..now he is fine but very weak unable to sit properly .. please suggest what food should I give to him or any tonic for weakness..presently I am giving gemcal and vitfocol to him.

SandhyaMom of a 8 yr 8 m old girl4 years agoA. Hi, once the baby suffers from diarrhoea it will take 10 to 15 days for the baby to get back into normal. So if you’re breastfeeding then continue breastfeeding. Give adequate liquid like buttermilk, coconut water, water, fresh fruit juice made at home without sugar and salt. Give Khichdi, Idli, more fruits. Avoid oily and spicy food. Instead of giving three big meal, give five meals in a day in a smaller quantity and in smaller intervals.
