hello Dr my baby is 1 year old. weight is 9.9 kgs. he is having 102 fever since yesterday. I am giving maxtra p.can you please suggest any medicine

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy1 Year agoA. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carrxied out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

Calpol you can give one time and you can repeat it again after six hours this is a basic paracetamol that usually given in early age to the child so you can give it every six hours if the temperature is rising and please consult your paediatrician in case of need
