✅ Breastfeeding is the best and safest option Continue breastfeeding frequently — it helps keep your baby hydrated and provides immunity to fight infection. Breast milk is gentle on the stomach and usually well tolerated during diarrhea. ❓Can you give anything else?
At 5 months, your baby’s digestive system is still developing, and most babies are not yet ready for solids unless advised by a doctor. However:
If your baby is on top feed (formula), continue it as usual unless advised to stop by a pediatrician. Do not introduce new foods or juices during diarrhea—it can worsen the condition. ORS (oral rehydration solution) may be given in small sips if advised by your pediatrician to prevent dehydration. 🔴 See a doctor if: Diarrhea lasts more than 1–2 days There is blood or mucus in stool Baby shows signs of dehydration: dry mouth, sunken eyes, reduced urine Baby becomes very irritable or drowsy
Let me know if your baby is on breast milk only or formula too, so I can guide you better.
