hello dr good morning.my baby one year 4 month old .yesterday I checked my baby weight but she is only 8.2kg..but she is nrml and active..am giving her ragi nuts and all..but no weight gain..wht shel I do

A. hi babies weight gain depends on their birth weight usually they gain triple their birth weight by the age of 12 months and ideally 1.4 year old child should have weight between 8 to 12 kg. so don't worry your child weighs normal. for Healthy weight gain, offer starch rich food like boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice to your child. give energy dense fruits like apple banana papaya etc to your child. add dairy products like paneer curd ghee milk etc in your child diet. give Massage to your child daily maintain good hygiene.
