Q.

hello doctor.. recently I've not been able to breastfeed my 1 month old baby properly. she keeps on crying after every half n hour or 1 as my milk supply is decreased. Also my nipples are sore, cracked and I have sharp pains.

A. Dear mum, it is best to apply breastmilk to cracked nipple especially hind milk. it has great healing properties. don't wear bra until healed and let it air dry. creams have to be washed before breastfeeding which again dries the area and aggravates injury. improper latching may have resulted in this. take care that maximum areola is in mouth of child, lower lip is curled out and chin touches breast Tongue-ties interfere with breastfeedin. When he cries, does his tongue go right up to the top of his mouth? If not, he may be tongue-tied. lactational consultant Wii be helpful
