hello doctor my son is now 1 year and 9 months old can you please tell us when he will starts to say mamma and papa .

Usually kids pick up on their speech between the age of 8 to 9 months to 2 1/2 years if your child is not speaking at all but understand everything giving you a proper response and making an eye contact and there is no problem just try and communicate more and more with your child on a personal level don’t give any time and consult a speech therapist once

MomMom of 2 children4 months agoA. usually they say a few words by that age. especially mummy pappa. Keep talking to the child and read lots of books. also encourage the child to repeat the words. initially start with only sounds like ma ma ma or pa pa pa, ta ta ta. and wait for the child to copy that. any sounds which are easy make the child to repeat. that way the child will pick up words also. don't force only for mom dad words. let it be any words or sounds.
