Hello doctor, my son is 3 months old and he has cold problem since last 2 months. When we give him medicine, he remains fine, but when we do not give him medicine, he gets cold again and his nose is also blocked, tell me some remedies so that he will be completely fine and his nose is not blocked.And please suggest some equipment to clean his nose

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. this can occurs due to weather changes and temperature variations or simple cold and rarely infection.
kindly give nasal saline drops (nasoclear /nasivion s)every three hourly and since it is a salt water/saline water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and respiratory cough.
it will dissolve mucus in nose and throat.
for fever and pain give paracetamol.
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and you can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor
you can spray or put nasal saline drops for the nasal cavity.
this will losing up the secretions which is present in the nasal cavity.
with the help of eithder cotton cloth or a simple cotton bud you can clean the nasal cavity by rotating motion.
