hello doctor,my daughter name is Ariana khanOur daughter is 5 years 4 months old, she had viral fever last 20 days ago.Since then till today she has completely given up eating, after a lot of effort she eats little by little, she has also lost a lot of weight. It is getting week..

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can beh repeatedvu after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

NikithaMom of 2 children2 years agoA. hello try to give child different food option and receipe and give child small portion of food frequently instead of one large meal at a time and include fruits and vegetables and green leafy vegetables dry fruits and dairy products which can help and also safe too
