Q.

Hello Doctor, My child is 1 year and 3 months old. Her height is 69.5 cm. But in the growth chart , the ideal height range is specified as 73.5cm .Is there anything to worry about?

A. but the height is in the range for age the height of the child depends upon the genetic patterns as well as the diet the child is taking. so meet your doctor who will tell you whether it is within the normal limits according to the height of the parents or not. the doctor will calculate mid parental height and then tell you whether any intervention in the form of supplements is required or not. it is advisable that the child should take some amount of cereals pulses vegetable milk and fruits daily according to the age of the child. regular physical activity is also important to increase the weight and height of the child.
