Q.

Hello doctor, my baby is 16 month old. His birth weight was 1700 gm and he was prematured by 2 months. Now He is 8.8 kg. Is his weight ok?

A. Namaste Mom, yes it is fine as she was preterm baby , hence their weight gain, milestones could be slightly on low pace comparetively to a full term baby

A. Looking at the fact that your child was premature and born with less weight gain this would be enough justified but of course as the age progresses you certainly have better scope of increasing the weight of your child which is why I’m going to recommend you to increase proteins intake into the diet of your child and if needed you can consult the nutrition expert so that you can start with necessary supplements as well as a precise diet for proper growth and weight gain of your child
