Q.

Hello doctor.... My baby is 1 year 4 month old ., she is active playful but not gaining weight how frequent should I feed her what to give to gain weight .... She passes stools 4 to 5 times a day is it normal ... she is even getting cold very often

A. yes stool is normal After age of 1 year it is important to follow the following points and the maximum milk you can give per day is 500 ml. you have to give at least One Katori of rice product 1 Katori of Dal product 1 Katori of wheat product and 1 Katori of vegetable everyday to the child and at least two fruits every day to the child. you can make anything any recipe ffrom cereals pulses vegetable milk and fruits and by giving this daily you will be providing adequate nutrition to the child you can add ghee groundnuts dryfruits in the diet and this will help in improving the weight of the child

A. Foods like potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, dal, ghee, ragi, almonds, yogurt, eggs and milk help the baby to gain weight. Please take a pediatricians' suggestion before you start any of these foods. As always follow a 3 day test rule.
