Q.

Hello doctor, my baby is 1 month 3 days old and has passed urine only twice in 6 hours today. He usually has a good urine output. But today he passed only twice in 6 hours. I exclusively breastfeed him. Please tell if it’s a cause of concern.

A. the frequency of urination should be more than 5 or 6 times per day. the colour of the urine should be pale yellowx to transparent. if the above two criteria is achieved then no need to worry but if it is less than kindly give more fluid food, water and juicex to the child. please do not worry if the child is not passing urine at night time.

A. Monitor for 24 hours if you do not see the urine count is more than 10 times or about 8 to 10 times in a day then in that case you can check with your doctor sometimes the child could be dehydrated due to summer season but you should give it sometime before you visit your doctor
