Q.

Hello doctor My 4.5 month old daughter was around 5.5 kgs last month when she was weighed on 17 th April and in this month,she is weighing 5.8 kgs which means she has gained only 300 grams . What could be the possible reason for this? She is both on fm and bm diet .

A. in first six months the minimum weight gain should be 500 mg per month and it can go up to 1 kg per month also. the urine output should be more than 6 to 7 times per day. the child should sleep after taking feeding. meet the doctor for weight assessment. if the above criteria is acchieved then the child is having adequate milk intake. if the growth of the child is proper there is no need to worry about the sleeping pattern/ feeding as well as the stool frequecncy of the child

A. hi but your child weighs really good. nothing to worry about it because babies get 250 to 500g per month so if we look at your child weight gain,he or she is gaining good weight.
